In short. We collect what you enter so the app can work out your plan and keep your history. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use tracking or advertising tools. You can export everything at any time. If you ask for help, the person helping you can read your data, read only, and every look is recorded.
1. Who we are
Apexevo, the app and this website, is run by MACROHUB LLC ("we"). We decide how your data is used and are responsible for it.
2. What we collect
What you give us
- Your account. Your email address and password. The password is held by Google's sign-in service; we never see it.
- Your answers. Your goal, age, sex at birth, height, weight, job activity and experience, and how you live: sleep, food habits, water and training.
- Your health screen. Answers to a standard activity-readiness questionnaire and an eating screen, injuries, health conditions, the names of medicines you take, and whether you are pregnant, have had an eating disorder or a recent injury or surgery.
- What you log. Meals, your foods and recipes, drinks with any caffeine and alcohol, water, sleep, weight, body measurements, training sessions, cardio, medicines and doses, programs and your settings.
- Photos you add to your foods, and up to two screenshots with a bug report.
- Messages you send from the app, which include your phone model, its system version and the app's version so we can answer exactly, and from this website's contact and feedback forms, which include your name, email address and what you wrote.
What we do not collect
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools in the app or on this website, and we do not collect your location or your contacts. When you send a form on this website, your internet address is used for a few seconds to stop the same address sending too many messages, and it is not stored with your message.
On your phone only
Some things stay on your phone and never reach us: your light or dark preference, the reminders and nudges it has scheduled, a training session in progress, and a copy of recent data so the app works with no signal.
3. Why we use it
- To work out your targets and sessions, and to keep them up to date as you log.
- To keep you safe: your health screen decides what the app will and will not suggest.
- To remind you, when you have turned a reminder on.
- To answer your messages and fix what you report.
Health information is used only because you choose to give it, for the purposes above, and you agree to this in the app before your account starts, which keeps a record of the version you agreed to and when. We never use it for advertising, and we never sell it.
4. Where it is kept
Your account and everything you log are stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) in the United States. Food photos and bug-report screenshots are stored with Cloudflare R2, and requests pass through Cloudflare's network. This website is served by Cloudflare. These companies store and process the data for us and may not use it for anything else.
If you live outside the United States, your data is transferred there to be stored. We rely on the safeguards these providers offer for such transfers.
5. Who can see it
You. Each account's data is locked to that account by the database's own rules.
To help you, or to look into a problem, an Apexevo administrator can read an account's data. This access is read only, and every look, at a list of accounts, at an account or at one kind of entry, is written to an audit log before anything is shown. The log records who looked, at what and when, and cannot be edited from the admin tools.
We share data with nobody else, except the service providers named above, or where the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account, so your history stays with you. When an entry is undone it is marked as undone rather than erased, so your totals stay right. Messages sent from this website are kept until they have been dealt with and are no longer needed.
You can delete your account yourself, in Settings, Delete account. After you enter your password once more, your account and everything it holds are deleted at once: your answers, every entry, your foods and photos, and the messages and bug reports you sent, with their screenshots. The copies kept on that phone go too. If you can no longer reach the app, for example after losing your phone, ask on thecontact page and it will be done for you.
One thing stays. The record of each time support looked at an account is kept, because it is there to hold us to account. It names the account only by an id that no longer leads anywhere once the account is gone.
7. Your choices and rights
- See and take your data. Settings, Export my data, gives you everything as a file, and there is a spreadsheet version too.
- Correct it. Every answer can be changed in Settings, and every entry can be undone.
- Delete it. Settings, Delete account, deletes your account and everything it holds, as above.
- Move it. An export can be imported back, into the same account or a new one.
- Turn things off. Every reminder, nudge and streak is off until you turn it on.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to object to how your data is used or to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us and we will help.
8. How it is protected
Everything travels encrypted between your phone and our providers. The database's rules let each person reach only their own data and check the shape of everything written. Administrator access is limited, read only and logged. No system is perfectly safe, and if something ever goes wrong that affects your data, we will tell you.
9. Age
Apexevo is for adults. You need to be 18 or over to use it, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
10. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, its version number goes up, and the app asks you to read it and agree before you carry on. The version and date at the top say which policy this is and when it last changed. Settings, Privacy policy, shows the version you agreed to.
11. Contact
For anything about your data, use the contact page, or Contact us in the app's Settings. A person reads every message.
